3-Time Fitness Olympia Champion Missy Truscott To Switch Figure Division in 2025

Three-time Fitness Olympia champion Missy Truscott will compete in the Figure division in 2025. This change comes less than three months after Truscott made her triumphant return to the Olympia stage in 2024 to win her third Fitness Olympia title after suffering two torn menisci and a torn ACL during her performance at the 2023 Olympia.

Truscott announced the switch on her YouTube channel with her husband. Truscott shares her news at the 28:32 portion of the 49-minute video below.

Truscott shared her reason for the change: “Fitness wasn’t fun anymore.” She said she’s “Already done everything.”

The Figure division calls for a combination of shape, symmetry, and conditioning but without the size and extreme conditioning that has been seen in Women’s Bodybuilding or Women’s Physique. There is also less posing and no performance routines.

Truscott exits the Fitness division with three Olympia championships and two Fitness International titles from the Arnold Classic. Fans and experts may feel this is the best time for her to switch to the Figure division.

The Figure division will crown a new Olympia champion in 2025 thanks to eight-time Olympia winner Cydney Gillon announcing her retirement on the 2024 Olympia stage after her final victory.

As of early 2025, the front-runner to succeed Gillon is 2023 Masters Olympia champion Jessica Reyes Padilla, who finished second to Gillon in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Padilla is already qualified for the 2025 Olympia, thanks to her runner-up finish at the 2024 Olympia.

Truscott is qualified for life to enter the Fitness Olympia as a past champion, but that qualification does not cross over to other divisions. She must win a pro show in the Figure division during the 2025 season or receive a special invite to compete in the 2025 Figure Olympia. The first contest of the 2025 season for the Figure division is the 2025 Tri-City Pro in Columbus, GA, on April 5, 2025.

If Truscott competes in Figure and qualifies for the Figure Olympia, she could become the first woman and second athlete to win the Olympia in two divisions. The only competitor to accomplish that feat is 2023 Mr. Olympia and 2021 212 Olympia winner Derek Lunsford.
